How to Get Here

By Car

Take the A830 “Road to the Isles” from Fort William. Best to allow yourself 1-1 and ½ hours from Fort William to Mallaig. 3 ½  to 4 hours if traveling from Glasgow to Fort William the same from Edinburgh to Fort William or 2 to 2 and ½ hours from Inverness to Fort William. Harry Potter fans will be delighted by the viaduct bridge made famous on the Hogwarts Express/flying car chase is Just after the Glenfinnan monument. You’ll also pass the white sands of Morar, made famous as the beach locations for Local hero with Burt Lancaster.

Walking In

What better way to reach us than by walking in via Glendessary, Glen Meadall or Kinlochhourn this will fairly put a spring in your step and colour in your cheeks. Post on your gear in advance if you fancy, the lure of a hot shower, clean change of socks and a pint of cask conditioned real ale to accompany a juicy steak or fresh seafood platter.

Travelling from London is very comfortable on the overnight sleeper, visit the above link at Scotrail for time tables. Trains travelling from London stop in Fort William. Here you pick up a connection for Mallaig.

In the Summer months, travel back in time on the Steam Train Jacobite http://www.steamtrain.info/  Cross the famous viaduct just like that famous little wizard on his way to Hogwarts!

Check out the bus connections http://www.citylink.co.uk/ There are no train connection from Inverness or Aberdeen i.e east coast Scotland through direct to Mallaig, but excellent bus connections.
